Biodiversity and Environment

In this project, biologists work together with information scientists to develop a structure in order to process and analyse the enormous quantities of data and knowledge about plants and animals. The development of extremely large databases with information about the characteristics of fauna and flora, the identity of the constituent sorts and their geographic distribution open new possibilities of tracing the changes in nature and the environment. The project is also oriented toward new methods of modelling and simulating natural processes. The results are of great importance to the development of an adequate nature - and environmental policy.
